Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March, 1988) who is also known as Grimes, is a Canadian musician, singer, and record producer. [2][3] The range of her earlier music was described as "lo hi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has incorporated elements from hip hop, electronic and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address feminist and science fiction themes. She has recorded five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver before moving to Montreal. Her first solo career in the late early 2000s. In 2010 she debuted two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After the signing of 4AD, she rose in the charts thanks to Visions the band's third album on the studio. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and was awarded the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album was praised by critics and a variety of publications voted it the best album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes was also an actress and judge on Alter Ego's competitions for music, played a part as vocalist on the album Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in the year 2020.
